Designed to detect fires in harsh environments, Signaline Linear Heat Detectors are not affected by atmospheric conditions. This means they can be used in any environment, including Hazardous Areas, ensuring Signaline will detect any heat anywhere.
To maintain the performance and reliability of the Linear Heat Detection Cable, an appropriate mounting method must be used. Our range of cable fixings and mounting accessories ensures this and maintains the system’s integrity.
However, Linear Heat Detection is often installed in environments where a simple flat surface is not available for direct cable mounting with clips. Examples include, areas around transformer units located outdoors, manufacturing facilities with high ceilings or extensive ventilation ducting or car parks where structural elements obstruct straightforward installation.
In these environments we recommend the use of Signaline Catenary Wire. Signaline Catenary Wire is an optional accessory that can be added to any Signaline Linear Heat Detection Cable. The wire is spiralled around the detector cable allowing the system to be self‑supporting and easier to install.

The new and improved Signaline Catenary Wire now uses a multi-core twisted steel wire. The new wire greatly increases the tensile strength of the catenary wire while also improving the malleability.
As a result, on‑site installation is significantly faster due to the cable’s improved handling characteristics.
Fit a turnbuckle at one end of the detection run and a hook at the other, secure the Catenary Wire and tighten using the turnbuckle. This turns a previously difficult, time‑consuming installation into a quick and simple job, thus not only saving time but money too.
