Business Development Manager – East Asia

This East Asia–based role offers the chance to drive growth, deepen partnerships, and expand LGM’s presence across one of our most dynamic and high‑potential regions.

Salary

£38,000 to £42,000

Location

This position is classified as remote, meaning the successful candidate will work independently from their own accommodation rather than from a company office or shared workspace. The role requires self-management, reliable internet connectivity, and the ability to collaborate virtually with colleagues and clients.

This position is only open to candidates residing in East Asia. Applicants must have legal authorization to work in their country of residence within East Asia.

The Role

LGM has proudly served East Asia for nearly 40 years, building strong partnerships and delivering world-class fire detection solutions. Today, East Asia represents almost one-third of LGM Products’ global turnover and has achieved impressive double-digit growth for the past three years.

We already work with dynamic clients across Vietnam, Singapore, Thailand, Hong Kong, Malaysia, South Korea, and Japan, and we’re just getting started.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to drive revenue growth and shape the future of LGM’s presence in East Asia. As our Business Development Manager, you will lead the charge in expanding sales, strengthening relationships, and elevating brand awareness for our Signaline linear heat detection systems and the LGM Marine Fire Detection portfolio. The role is not just to manage our present market share but actively grow LGM’s market and reach the market potential across the region.

East Asia, for this role, includes all nations within Southeast Asia as well as Hong Kong SAR, China, South Korea, and Japan. If you’re passionate about growth, innovation, and making an impact in one of the world’s most dynamic markets, we want to hear from you.

Key Duties

  • Increase LGM Products in territory sales in line with company set targets.
  • Develop and execute sales strategies tailored to the diverse markets in the region.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients as well as fostering new clients and opportunities.
  • Identify new business opportunities.
  • Coordinate marketing and sales campaigns for product launches and introductions.
  • Work with wider sales team for online and social media communications.
  • Manage a network of distributors, partners, and re-sellers.
  • Stay informed about local market trends, competitor activities, and regulatory requirements. Ensure market intel is monitored, documented and where applicable acted upon. Ensure that LGM remains at the forefront of market trends and changes.
  • Optimize customer satisfaction and service delivery.
  • Regular engagement with customers, new clients, and specifiers.
  • Attend regional industry events & exhibitions.
  • Proactively travel and meet clients and industry colleagues across the region.
  • Provide base level technical product training to customers and provide post sales technical support where required.
  • Develop marketing materials (such as online content, print media, social media posts etc.) tailored to geographical market area.
  • Oversee the planned future expansion of LGM within the geographic area, ensuring effective management of recruitment processes and facility operations

Day-to-day activities will also include but are not limited to:

  • Prepare and manage quotations to support business development initiatives.
  • Increase market awareness through targeted outreach and promotional activities.
  • Proactively engage with existing customers to strengthen relationships and identify opportunities.
  • Liaise with and provide regular reports to head office in the UK to ensure alignment on business objectives.
  • Identify and pursue new client opportunities to drive growth.
  • Identify and attend and exhibit at industry events to proactively promote LGM and Signaline brands
  • Provide technical support in pre and post sales capacities
  • Enter and manage customer orders accurately within LGM’s systems.
  • Actively seek and develop new customer relationships to expand the client base.
  • Generate regular sales reports, tracking key performance metrics, and analyse trends to support decision-making and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Maintain and update customer records. Ensuring accurate and up-to-date information for effective communication, follow-ups, and future sales efforts.
  • Support the sales team by managing schedules, setting up meetings, preparing materials, and ensuring all necessary resources are available for successful sales activities.

Reporting

The successful candidate will report to the Director of Strategic Growth, Nic Mogford-Revess, and will work closely in collaboration to ensure successful completion of key targets for both individual and company. The successful candidate will work within the wider LGM Products sales team and thereby will be required to provide cover where necessary.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • Proven experience in sales and marketing within industrial and B2B fields.
  • Ability and experience of independent work travel.
  • 5 years’ experience working within fire detection or similar industry preferred.
  • Experience of working for international company preferred.
  • Ability to present, train and lead group presentations (F2F and Online).
  • Ability and experience in technical product sales, ideally with some technical qualification or experience
  • Strong IT competency. (Aptitude across all Windows Office applications is a pre-requisite)
  • Experience with ERP and CRM systems such as Sage or SAP preferrable.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate others to achieve common goals.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing business needs and priorities.
  • Fluent in English and at least one SE Asia language
  • Self-motivated to work independently and reach targets without close management
  • Personnel management skills
  • Drive to develop role and take on further responsibility in time
